Pain in the ovarian region might be due to the occurrence of ovarian cysts in women especially during the age of child bearing. It has been found out that nearly all women once in their life time at least might come across pain in the ovarian region due to the presence of ovarian cysts. Some ovarian cysts would disappear while some might not. But whatever might be reason pain in the ovarian region should not be taken lightly or ignored to avoid further health complications.
Pain in the ovarian region can get worse if the ovarian cysts become bigger in size. For instance, if the ovarian cysts grow more than ten centimeters the pain might be very sharp in the ovarian region or in the lower abdomen region. There is also a possibility for the ovarian cysts to get converted in to a tumor. In that case, the pain in the ovarian region can be very acute or pressure can be felt over the urinary bladder and so on. There are instances where the pain in the ovarian region might be due to the torsion or twisting of the ovarian cysts. The fallopian tube too can get twisted making the pain in the ovarian region very severe. When the pain in the ovarian region is felt during pregnancy, the ovarian cysts are removed using surgery without harming the unborn baby.
