Cause of ovary pain should not be neglected as it has to be taken seriously and pondered. Cause of ovary pain is an indication that something is wrong about the ovaries. Sometimes pelvic pain or abdominal pain can be mistaken for ovary pain as they too are located at the lower part of the body.
Ovarian cysts are the main cause of ovary pain. Women might get abdominal pain if they have bladder or kidney stones or if they suffer from irritable bowel syndrome or diverticulitis or due to strains or spasms in the abdominal muscles and so on. Pelvic pain can also be due to vaginal infections, inflammatory diseases which could be passed on to the ovaries too.
Cause of sharp ovary pain is normally attributed to the bleeding of ovarian cysts or due to fluid leaks or due to the twisting of the ovarian cysts and so on. For many women, smaller size cysts would get dissolved by their own even without any medication or medical intervention just after two or three periods or menstrual cycles. But the bigger size ovarian cysts might not dissolve by themselves and might need surgery for removing them.
Ectopic pregnancy normally begins in the exterior part of the uterus in either one of the fallopian tubes to which the ovaries are connected. This too might result in severe pain in the abdomen and can be the cause of ovary pain.
