Abdominal pain in the ovarian region is the area below the belly button till the groin area. Women suffering from abdominal pain in the ovarian region might call this pain in different names like abdominal cramps or as belly ache or stomach ache or abdominal pain. There are various organs seen in the abdomen area and in general abdominal pain can originate from any of these.
Some of the organs seen in the abdomen are aorta, kidneys, spleen, ovaries, appendix, and organs related with digestive system like gallbladder, pancreas, large intestines, small intestines and liver. But the main reason for the abdominal pain in the ovarian region is due to the ovaries in most of the women.
Most often the pain’s intensity cannot be mistaken for a serious health condition as the pain can also be due to gas or due to distention or due viral gastroenteritis problems. Abdominal pain in the ovarian region can be felt by women in the child bearing ages due to menstrual cramps or due to health conditions like endometriosis where uterus’s tissue get displaced to a place such as the ovaries or pelvic wall or might be due to the uterine fibroids which are nothing but the fibrous and muscular tissue in the form of thick bands seen in the uterus or due to ovarian cancer or due to ovarian cysts or due to PID (pelvic inflammatory disease).
